The Newton Marasco Foundation invites high schools across the nation to take the enGAUGE It challenge! Through this simple and innovative new program, students can help drivers in their community save money, protect the environment, and improve safety with one quick and easy step: properly inflating their tires!
Every year, drivers waste billions of dollars – and billions of gallons of gas – because of under-inflated tires. By ensuring that tires are properly inflated, students can help drivers improve their fuel economy, reduce harmful emissions, spend less on gas and prevent auto accidents. Even the 2008 presidential candidates agreed on the positive effect of proper auto tire pressure on reducing gas consumption.
The enGAUGE It challenge gives high school students—our next generation of environmental stewards—the tools and information to have a meaningful impact within their communities and on the environment.
On Earth Day 2009, enGAUGE It will kick off with its first event at Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville, Virginia. The students from Loudoun Valley High School challenge your school to get involved:
The students at Loudoun Valley High School challenge schools across the nation to improve fuel efficiency, reduce CO2 emissions, improve driving safety, and save money by adopting the enGAUGE it program and educating your community to keep tires properly inflated.
